Intelligent Access Program
IAP stands for Intelligent Access Program.
This is a voluntary program which provides heavy vehicles with access, or improved access, to the Australian road network in return for monitoring
of compliance with specific access conditions by vehicle telematic solutions.
Subscribing to IAP:
To subscribe to the IAP, transport operators must apply through an IAP service provider who has been IAP certified by TCA.
OmniTRACK is a certified IAP service provider and has had over 10 years experience in the vehicle tracking and monitoring industry.
How the IAP works:
Transport operators apply through the TCA to enter the IAP. If they are eligible they need to find an IAP service provider and enter into a contract with them.
The transport operator’s heavy vehicles are then fitted with an in-vehicle unit (IVU) to enable monitoring of a number of vehicle parameters. The IAP service provider monitors them for compliance and notifies the TCA should any non-compliance occur.
OmniTRACK is able to provide this service to transport operators in addition to, or separately from, their other services which include fleet management, OH&S services, vehicle tracking and asset monitoring.
Benefits:
- Enhanced access to the road network
- Potential to travel on routes where access was previously not permitted.
